Strange New Worlds wants to tell the stories of its characters before they were on Star Trek. This includes the story of James Kirk. Myers said that the show doesn’t want to miss out on the chance to tell stories about Kirk’s pre-captain days. It feels like not doing that would be a mistake.
As exciting as it was to learn about James Kirk’s arrival, some fans thought that Anson Mount’s Pike was going to leave soon. Kirk will not become Captain of the Enterprise, Henry Alonso Myers said. Mount has already hinted that this isn’t the case.

Who Is Samuel Kirk?
It was on Star Trek: The Original Series that George Samuel Kirk appeared for the first time.
He was said to be James’ older brother. William Shatner played the role of the character, who was a scientist, in a very short segment of the show, and he was very good at it.
Samuel, who was often called “Sam,” was a biologist who lived on the planet Deneva.
He was married to Aurelian, who was played by Joan Swift. They had three sons, and they all died.
Sam is killed by flying parasites at the start of “Operation – Annihilate!” James, who is more commonly known as Jim, found his dead body.
Strange New Worlds Catches Viewers By Surprise
Those who like science fiction know that movies and TV shows in this genre follow the canon, which is the general rule about not having different timelines mixed.
Because Strange New Worlds had a hard time bringing back a long-dead character, it was hard for them to do that.
Samuel Kirk being on the show doesn’t break the canon, but it does make for an interesting twist.
A new power dynamic was shown in 1966 when Spock took over as Kirk’s head of staff. There was a friendship between Sam and Pike. It will be interesting to see how their relationship changes when James T. Kirk meets Captain Pike in the show.
When the new show teased that a certain Kirk would show up, many people thought it would be James who came into the show’s story. But, the show’s creators surprised everyone when Samuel Kirk came back to the show.
There is also proof that James T. Kirk isn’t even the first Kirk to serve on the USS Enterprise in Strange New Worlds.
