Who is Carlos Singh in Outer Banks Season 3? Another new season on the Outer Banks means another new treasure and another new bad guy who will do anything to get the bag. In season 2, Limbrey and the Cross of Santo Domingo were introduced. In season 3, a man named Carlos Singh and the lost city of El Dorado are introduced.
Who is Carlos Singh in Outer Banks Season 3?
Carlos Singh is a gangster in the Caribbean. He is known as the Kingfish. Carlos is another treasure hunter who will do anything to get to the gold, just like Big John, Ward Cameron, and Limbrey. But Singh isn’t interested in the Royal Merchant gold or the Cross of Santo Domingo. He wants to find the lost treasures of El Dorado, which is a much bigger prize.
Why was Carlos looking for John B and the Pogues?
When he hears that the Pogues jumped off the ship when they tried to steal the Cross of Santo Domingo from the Camerons, he sends Portis to look for them on nearby islands.
He finds them in the end and brings them back to Barbados, but when their plane crashes into the shore, everyone but Kie gets away. Kie is caught and brought to Singh’s house. There, he tells her and Rafe Cameron, who got there when he tried to make a deal for Singh to buy the stolen Cross, to find the diary of Denmark Tanny and bring it back to him in exchange for their freedom.
How and why does he think the Camerons and the Pogues know where the diary is? Because they found the Cross. Denmark Tanny had written about it in his diary, explaining where he got it and where he put it.
Why does Carlos want Denmark Tanny’s diary?
Singh thinks that the diary has clues about where El Dorado is and what treasures are there.
In episode 3, Big John says that the San Jose ship and its crew were thought to have found El Dorado, which is why there was so much gold on board. Then, the Royal Merchant and Captain Limbrey destroyed the San Jose and stole the gold from them.
We know that Tanny, who was a slave on the Merchant’s crew, took the gold, hid it in the Outer Banks, and wrote everything down in his diary, including details about El Dorado and hints about how to find it.
Carlos was on the right track, but it turns out that Tanny didn’t write about El Dorado in his diary. Instead, he wrote about it in an unopened letter to his daughter Clarice, also known as Pope’s grandmother.
Why does Carlos want to find El Dorado?
Well, Singh wants all that gold and treasure because he’s greedy, but he also thinks he’s the one who will finish the grand quest of finding El Dorado, which hasn’t been done in 500 years.
In episode 8, Singh says that his grandfather was part of Theodore Roosevelt’s search for El Dorado in 1913. At the time, they were indentured servants in the United States. After the search failed, he died on the ship.
Singh is now trying to finish the quest because he wants to make up for the wrongs done to his family and because he thinks it’s his destiny.
How are Carlos and Big John connected?
Back when Ward Cameron almost killed Big John and left him for dead, some of Singh’s mercenaries found him and brought him back to Barbados, where he was basically held captive. Singh thought that Big John was right about the Royal Merchant treasure and, by extension, about El Dorado.
Singh wanted Big John to tell him everything he knew about the Signpost of Orinoco that he was holding. Instead, after Big John looked at the artefact, he knocked Singh out and took the signpost.
In episode 6, Singh finally catches up to Big John and takes the Signpost/Gnomon. Big John tells Singh that he is the only one who can figure out what the symbols mean. When Singh hears this, he captures Big John and takes him to Venezuela to join him on the quest.
In the last episode, Big John gets away from Carlos and goes with John B, Sarah, and Ward Cameron to figure out how to pass the gnomon test. Carlos catches up to them and chases them to the entrance of El Dorado, but Big John sets off a stick of dynamite in the way, which blows Carlos up.
Carlos fails his quest even though he used the work of the Pogues and Big John. At the end of the season, everyone praises the Pogues for finding El Dorado and calling them heroes.
