Lucifer fans were delighted to see the second half of the fifth season come to Netflix in its entirety and even though the series revealed many mysteries it is confusing to know the moment where Chloe Decker ( Lauren German ) knows about the Devil ( Tom Ellis ).
From the beginning, Chloe had had no idea of Lucifer’s true identity and fans are eager to know the moment she finds out, as Chloe and the fallen angel’s relationship has evolved at an interesting rate.
When Does Lucifer Reveal Himself To Chloe?
The Devil had been open about his past life ruling Hell, but Chloe hasn’t taken his claims literally. Chloe discovers the true identity of the Devil in episode 24 of the third season, called A Devil of My Word.
In the episode, Chloe and the Fallen Angel went after Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling) after discovering that he killed Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer). Pierce ended up shooting Chloe, but the Devil used his angel wings to get her to safety.
He then returned to kill Pierce, but this caused his devil face to return and Chloe saw it all. The fourth season addresses the discovery that Chloe had fled the scene of the attack.
He seemed to have taken the reveal well, but fans quickly learn that he had other plans during his time away. Chloe had visited Vatican City in an attempt to send the Devil back to Hell.
She felt bad for betraying her partner and the Devil seems unable to forgive her. He continued to form a relationship with Eve (Inbar Lavi) but would confess his love for Chloe at the end of season four.
Viewers were confused at first by Chloe’s strange reaction to Lucifer’s devilish face, as she had acted as if nothing had happened. However, they later learned that she had not taken the news lightly.
Lucifer Reveals Himself To Protect Chloe
Every time fans see Lucifer desperate to save Chloe, it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside. In one episode in particular, for example, he died on purpose to return to hell and obtain an antidote to the poison he had been given.
But one of the most heartbreaking scenes was when the bullets came flying towards Lucifer and Chloe thanks to an attack from Cain. Seeing Lucifer’s desperation to save her, resulting in his wings popping out and enveloping her like a cocoon to protect her, was enough to cheer up any fan. But, when Chloe later saw his devil face because of it, the moment became confusing and heartbreaking as Chloe became terrified of him.
Will There Be More Seasons Of Lucifer?
Unfortunately for fans, there will be no more seasons of “Lucifer.” In fact, co-showrunner Joe Henderson has reportedly already told Netflix that Season 6 would be the final chapter of the show that he (and the rest of the “Lucifer” creative team) originally believed would end with Season 5. “It is. the story that they were always going to tell, but only written much bigger and for me [now] much more interesting than it breaks my heart to think that we weren’t [originally] going to do it this way, “revealed Henderson to Entertainment Weekly. . “When they said to me, ‘Can you make one more?’ We said, ‘Yeah, but this is our last story.’
Of course, that doesn’t mean fans won’t be able to see actor Tom Ellis reprise his role in a future “Lucifer” spin-off or another DC project. However, it’s unknown when and if that could actually happen, which means that for now, fans will just have to learn to be happy with the six seasons that they were able to go through with Lucifer from Ellis.
