What Separates Mandalorian Beliefs From Jedi, According To Jon Favreau? Jon Favreau of Lucasfilm talks about how Mandalorian beliefs are different from those of the Jedi before the third season of The Mandalorian. The Mandalorian showed that Star Wars can be about more than Jedi and lightsaber fights, but Star Wars’ first live-action TV show, Grogu, has always been about a character who can feel the Force. Grogu chose Din Djarin when he had to choose between the Jedi way and the Mandalorian way in The Book of Boba Fett.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Jon Favreau of Lucasfilm talked about how Mandalorian culture and Jedi beliefs are different, but he also pointed out that the two Star Wars groups have some things in common.

The similarities and differences between Mandalorians and Jedi are becoming more clear as The Mandalorian shows more of the Force-sensitive part of the Star Wars galaxy, especially after season 2. Grogu, for example, was able to learn both Mandalorian customs and Jedi skills.

Mandalorians and Jedi have a long and complicated history in Star Wars

What Separates Mandalorian Beliefs From Jedi According To Jon Favreau

In the Star Wars universe, the history between the Mandalorians and the Jedi is very complicated, especially when you take into account the differences between the Expanded Universe and the Star Wars canon. In the old Expanded Universe, there were stories about the Mandalorian Wars, in which Mandalorians fought against the Republic, which was backed by the Jedi Order. Mandalore stories in Clone Wars pretty much killed the Expanded Universe by giving Mandalorians a whole new story, but Mandalorians and Jedi also had some kind of fight in the past in the Disney Star Wars canon. Kanan Jarrus said in Star Wars Rebels that the Jedi “won the war with Mandalore.”

The first Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Vizsla, made the Darksaber, which made its live-action debut at the end of season 1 of The Mandalorian. The Darksaber is the ancestral blade of Mandalorian leadership, and it was made by Tarre Vizsla. After he died, the Jedi took it, but it was later stolen from the Jedi Temple. It’s likely that this theft added to the distrust between the Jedi and the Mandalorians, who stayed at odds with each other until the Clone Wars, when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Duchess Satine Kryze, ruler of the Mandalorians, were drawn together by an unlikely attraction.

Even though there are some questions about the canon, the Mandalorians are one of the most well-known warrior groups in the Star Wars universe. Mandalorians have a long history of making armour, weapons, and other things that can help in a fight. This is different from Jedi, who rely on the Force and a lightsaber for all kinds of combat. Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, used some of these weapons when he briefly fought Ahsoka in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Grogu could be the link between the Mandalorian and Jedi ways, since Din is raising a child who can feel the Force.
