What is Playoff Pass on The Voice? The Voice is back for a new season with some new singers, contestants, and twists. In the next episode, there will be a lot of new things to see, like the Playoff Pass, which will give four artists a big advantage while they are on the show.
The new season of The Voice will start on NBC on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 8 pm ET.
What is Playoff Pass on The Voice?
The NBC singing competition will have Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs, and Live performances in the next season. Blake Shelton, Niall Horan, Chance the Rapper, and Kelly Clarkson will have blocks, steals, and saves. With these, they will be able to make big changes to the show as it goes on.
The first part of the show will be Blind Auditions, where the coaches will choose singers for their teams based only on how they sound. They won’t be able to see the real contestant until they choose him or her for their team or the song is over.
But the coaches only have until the song’s end to choose the contestant. If any two coaches press the buzzer, the contestant gets to choose which coach will be their mentor.
During the auditions for The Voice, the coaches can stop another coach from picking a certain contestant. Each coach will have a buzzer with the other coaches’ names on it. But the blocked coach won’t know they’ve been blocked until their chair starts to move.
The Battle rounds will come next, but this time there will be a different twist. During this round of The Voice, contestants from the same team usually sing the same song against each other.
But only one contestant moves on, and who that is depends on who their coach is. In the past, the coaches could steal the eliminated contestant, but this time they will also have a Playoff Pass.
With the new twist, the coaches can use the Playoff Pass, which would let both singers move on to the next round. The winner of the pass will be able to skip the next round and go straight to the Playoffs.
The Knockout round is similar to the one that came before it. In this round, though, the contestants choose different songs and perform them on their own. Whoever doesn’t make the team can be taken by the coaches. After the Knockout rounds, each team will have four winners and one “pass artist” for the playoffs.
In season 23, the Playoffs are back. The top 20 contestants show off their skills, hoping to be one of the two chosen by their mentors to move on to the Live Performances round. During the semi-finals, the contestants will compete against each other every week, and the audience will vote on who to save.
During the live shows, there is another surprise. The singers who got the fewest votes will be put up for Instant Save. This gives them a chance to sing again while the country votes for them on The Voice app or NBC.com.
On Monday, March 6, at 8 p.m. ET, the new season of The Voice23 will start on NBC. The next day, you can stream episodes of the same show on Peacock.
