Jennifer Grey Says 'Dirty Dancing' Sequel Will 'See Other Characters'

Jennifer Grey says the Dirty Dancing sequel is "Happening" and will feature familiar faces.

Grey said her character, Frances "Baby" Houseman, will be "Quite a few years older" and that "Other characters from the original" will join her.

After 35 years, the actress teased her Dirty Dancing return at CinemaCon.

"Appeal was that it was very genuine and simple," said Grey, who published her memoir Out of the Corner in May and will executive produce the sequel.

"For a couple of years," Grey told PEOPLE in April 2022.

"Grey called Dirty Dancing "a fairy tale, a successful movie and formula, using dance as a metaphor for embodying your energy and getting out of your head and limiting belief systems."

Grey's first Dirty Dancing film since 1987 follows a TV series, a TV movie remake, a musical, and the 2004 film Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights.
