Elizabeth Olsen doesn't know where House of the Dragon casting rumours began

Elizabeth Olsen won't be in King's Landing soon.

At Variety's Power of Women gala in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the 33-year-old actress denied joining HBO's Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon.

Olsen told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, "I don't know how rumours like that get started and then people think they're true."

Several people told Olsen the rumours, which started with an unverified Twitter account on Sept. 4, were true, ET reported.

"Olsen said she'd be open to playing a Westerosi character if House of the Dragon wanted her.

Olsen said she auditioned for Emilia Clarke's breakout role as Daenerys Targaryen.

Olsen told Vulture in 2019 that her Game of Thrones audition was "awkward."
