Was Harry On The Balcony Today? The recent coronation of King Charles at Westminster Abbey was a grand affair, with the newly crowned King and Queen Camilla returning to Buckingham Palace to greet the adoring public from the iconic balcony. One notable figure was missing from the lineup- Prince Harry- joined by Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, as well as other esteemed members of the Royal Family.

Prince Harry’s Absence from the Balcony

Despite traveling all the way from the United States to attend the coronation, Prince Harry did not make an appearance on the balcony with the rest of the family. This is likely because King Charles limited the event to only working royals, excluding Prince Harry and his uncle Prince Andrew from the occasion. Prince Andrew was permitted to wear his royal robes, while Prince Harry was instructed to wear a suit.

A Surprising Turn of Events

Many expected King Charles to follow the late Queen’s example by barring Prince Andrew from wearing ceremonial robes, making it all the more surprising that he was allowed to do so while Prince Harry was not. Nevertheless, as a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO), Prince Harry would have been entitled to wear the order’s blue mantle, but the Palace allegedly advised against it.

Meghan Markle’s Decision to Decline the Invitation

Prince Harry made the journey to the UK without his wife, Meghan Markle, who chose to decline the coronation invitation. Instead, Meghan remained with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at their California home. Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Buckingham Palace released statements confirming these decisions.

The Future of the Sussex Family

Reports suggest that young Archie and Lilibet were not formally invited to the coronation, as organizers awaited confirmation on whether they would be traveling to the UK. Friends of the couple have stated that Prince Harry would have regretted not attending his father’s coronation and that Meghan Markle envisions her family’s future in the United States. The couple was also reportedly concerned about their reception by the British public.

Reuniting with the Royal Family

The coronation marked the first time Prince Harry has seen his family since making a series of shocking claims in his controversial memoir, Spare.
