Tyler Hubbard Delivers Energetic Performance at 2023 CMT Music Awards: Tyler Hubbard amped up the 2023 CMT Music Awards on Sunday night (April 2) with an electrifying performance of “Dancin’ in the Country,” the title track from his debut solo EP.
A Memorable Solo Debut
Following Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown’s opening monologue, Hubbard’s lively performance marked his first solo appearance at an awards show since his departure from Florida Georgia Line in late 2022.
An Outdoor Spectacle
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Texas Capitol Building in Austin, Hubbard’s outdoor performance began as the sun started to set. Dressed in a casual tan jacket and matching pants, Hubbard’s energetic presentation of his playful solo hit was complemented by a full band and the song’s signature banjo picking.
Dancing Through the Night
True to the song’s title, Hubbard showcased some smooth dance moves and invited the audience to join in on the fun. His infectious energy kept the crowd moving throughout the performance.
The Collaborative Creative Process
“Dancin’ in the Country” was co-written by Hubbard, Jon Nite, Ross Copperman, and Keith Urban. Hubbard has credited Urban for adding a fresh element to the track, describing it as a “cool, fun, up-tempo dance song.”
Embarking on a Solo Journey
Following the release of his “Dancin’ in the Country” EP in August 2022, Hubbard joined Urban on the Speed of Now World Tour. This tour marked his first major solo venture after the disbandment of his successful country duo, Florida Georgia Line.
