The Rookie Season 5 Episode 12: ABC will air the 12th episode of season 5 of The Rookie on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET. The 88th episode of the show is called “Death Notice.” It was written by Brynn Malone and directed by Tori Garrett.
Before the season finale, Daddy Cop, which airs on January 24, 2023, Death Notice is the second-to-last episode.
Nathan Fillion plays the main character, John Nolan, in The Rookie. Among many others, Alyssa Diaz plays Angela Lopez, Eric Winter plays Tim Bradford, and Richard T. Jones plays Wade Grey.

The Rookie Season 5 Episode 12 Preview
On January 11, a day after the 11th episode, “The Naked and the Dead,” aired, a preview for episode 12 of season 5 of “The Rookie” came out. It lasts 30 seconds and starts with a lift that opens to show singer Kelly Clarkson holding a bouquet. Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Bradford are among the six cops who get on the ride.
Chen tells Clarkson that she likes her music, and Clarkson says she’s thankful. In the following frames, we see Chen and Bradford, who are planning another date, have a sexual undercurrent.
Oscar Hutchinson, a violent prisoner played by a regular cast member named Matthew Glave, is taken to a hospital at the 12-second mark. The short teaser ends with several scenes of action.
The first episode of The Rookie aired on October 16, 2018. Since then, 87 episodes from five seasons have been shown. Most of the feedback has been positive. TVLine says that at the end of 2022, it was the most-watched drama show on ABC.
According to the numbers, the total number of viewers for season 5 was just 3% less than for season 4. Many viewers thought that moving the show from Sunday night to Tuesday night was a good thing that made the show do better.
Even though the show has done so well and has a lot of potentials, ABC has yet to renew The Rookie for a second season. But not everything is lost because the network has yet to say that the show will be cancelled.
ABC’s game shows like Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and Claim to Fame was just given another season. The network has also renewed shows like Abbott Elementary, The Conners, and Big Sky, so it is safe to assume that the show will be continued since it has been well received.
Alexi Hawley based The Rookie on an authentic Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer who joined the force after turning 40. William Norcross was 44 when he left his family business in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to join the LAPD in 2015.
Jon Steinberg, who is in charge of making The Rookie, took his friend’s story and turned it into a roaring show.

The Rookie Season 5 Episode 12 Recap
Tonight’s episode of The Rookie features John and the gang learning that Wesley’s murderer, Oscar, is scheduled to donate a kidney. They’ll have to keep an eye out for any strange behaviour from him and make sure no one shows up at the hospital seeking revenge.
Lucy and Tim are both on duty at the same time. In light of their newfound romance, Lucy worries about how they would conduct themselves in the workplace. When Tim makes a mistake in trying to rectify her police conduct, she uses it as a test. That’s what she’s trying to tell him. He warns her about administering the Tim test to him.
Oscar gets a visit from John and his companion. He claims he is acting in his daughter’s best interest, but she claims he is extorting her. At least one good thing will come from the trade: a kidney for her. John expresses his regrets to her in words. John’s girlfriend has a bad feeling about Oscar’s health and has told him so. In the meantime, Angela and Harper are together investigating a case. A stakeout has been initiated.
There’s a ruckus in Oscar’s room, and John and his buddy can hear it. Someone is in there with him, choking him. To put it simply, he is an adversary. Their goal is to get him away from Oscar. They learn that he is a hospital employee. As a result, he is now unemployed. Oscar’s daughter’s boyfriend, who appears to have recently used drugs, is then spotted in a hospital stall.
There was a prisoner release involving Lucy and Tim. Just before he leaves, he mentions that one of his earrings is gone. Lucy made a blunder. She informs Tim that she has lost the earrings and that he must file a report about her. He has no interest in doing so.
While out on a stakeout together, Angela confides in Harper that she is pregnant and has no idea what to do next. As soon as they locate their prey, they immediately begin to pursue them, putting an end to any further discussion.
