This episode is a spin-off from episode 19. It is based on Simone Clark. The FBI is racing to keep hazardous bombs from going off in the city. A suspected terrorist has threatened the whole city of Los Angeles by placing bombs all over the city. The FBI is rushing to the scene to prevent the bombs from detonating. Hopefully, we will know by the end of this episode if they are successful or not. If we don’t, it looks like we can expect another spin-off of the Simone Clark saga. We will have to wait to see what ABC has in store for us at 10:00 p.m. when the show airs.
The Rookie Season 4 Episode 19
In last week’s episode, we started off with officer Nolan thinking his girlfriend had moved in with him due to the fact that she came to stay the night and still has not left. Now she is doing both of their laundries.
It shows Nolan being a little distressed about the situation and confiding in Officer Chen.
Nolan and Chen were partners and, the first to receive a call about a bomb. They had to run as fast as they could to keep from being blown to bits as the bomb went off, taking a power grid down.
The FBI stops in after hearing talk of a terrorist attack on the dark web. The fact that a power grid was out, and a bomb was to blame had them pretty sure the dark web was more right than wrong.
They interviewed the man who called it in, and he described the guy as white with a Russian accent and a scar on his face. The FBI took a DNA sample off the detonator and the sample came back to Ezekiel Freemont. A black man without a Russian accent. They suspected Zeke was working with terrorists This is when Simone Clark comes in. She was Zeke’s guidance counselor, and also one of the oldest FBI trainees in the program.
Simone tells the FBI that Zeke is more like a kid with sensory overload and this would have him in hiding until the bombs go off. Nolan was the only agent willing to listen to Simone at that point. The FBI was ready to fly her back to Quantico.
Simone and Nolan go on the hunt for Zeke. Simone proved she was no flake when she found Zeke. Zeke would only speak to FBI agents if Simone was there with him.
Zeke tells Simone about his offer on the dark web to make several donators. The man he made them for said they were for research. Then he tried to kill Zeke. Zeke had been in hiding ever since. Until Nolan and Simone find him.
The FBI found out the terrorists had taken out the power grid, so they could hit the national guard armory nearby. When the FBI investigated, they ended up in pursuit of an armored truck driven by a black man who was hired by none other than a Russian with a scar on his face. He ended up telling them the Russian had stolen over two hundred pounds of C4.
This was indeed a terrorist attack.
After the FBI sent Simone home anyway, she pulled out all the stops to get back. When she does. She helps officer Lopez with a man talking about aliens breaking into his home and is able to determine the man is actually talking about Russians.
The FBI is trying to figure out why the Russian fingerprints keep coming back as classified and relating it to Area 51. Now Simone is back on the late task force and this is what started the Simone Clark saga. After tonight’s episode, we will know how Simone handles this new information about the Russians and Area 51.
The Rookie Season 4 Episode 20 Recap
Tonight’s episode jumps right back in with the terrorist that stole 200 pounds of C4. The team is still trying to figure out where the bombs could be. The team found out the terrorist had been paying unsuspecting citizens a hundred dollars apiece to help him in a study.
They had no idea They were part of a terrorist attack and carrying bombs. Officer Nolan was still sticking with Simone Clark. Nolan trusted her intuition and she had not led them astray yet. Simone quickly located one of the trucks on the freeway. It was loaded with deadly explosives. Simone and Nolan had to smash into the truck to get it off the highway, but it was worth the risk.
They were able to track down all of the trucks from a pattern after they nabbed the first one. They risked their lives but saved all of the cities. Simone and Nolan were taken to the hospital after their run into the truck. It could have been a lot worse. Simone was able to finally make some brownie points and prove herself to the other FBI agents. They did not see her as a joke anymore.
It was still a mystery why the Russian’s fingerprints came back as classified. They learned that there had been a project involving the CIA. The Russian said the CIA had ruined his life, and he was paying them back.
The CIA command chief was investigated and arrested for running an unsanctioned project with the Russian terrorist. That made sense why his fingerprints came up as Area 51. The chief had a hit team out for the Russian so apparently, he was not finished ruining his life. He wanted to finish the job.
The only thing that saved the Russian was his arrest. Simone made such a good impression she was invited to join a task force for the FBI. Not bad for the trainee.
