The Conners Season 5 Episode 17 Recap: Things didn’t take long to work out once Darlene got involved. She told Harris he must be happy because everything went how she wanted. But this made her angry, and she said that Darlene would say that because she never wanted Harris to have a child in the first place.
After hearing the answer, the whole family had to deal with the loss of their unborn child. Darlene talked to her daughter and told her that she never wanted to see her in such a place. She’s in a bad place because, even though she didn’t want to have a child, having one was a great surprise, and she grew attached to the child.
She thought it was a good idea and was looking forward to a great future for them both. Right after this, Darlene and Harris had a great mother-daughter moment when Harris said she felt bad that she wasn’t taking care of the baby enough. But Darlene stopped her and told her that this feeling will make her a great mom when the time is right.
