Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie Release Date: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 appears in style at the TGA 2021 gala to show his first preview. The film will be released on April 8, 2022.

The first part of the adventures of Sonic was a hit at the box office. The continuation of the saga was squarely revealed during the Super Bowl final. The most-watched show in the United States.

The most beloved hedgehog returns for a new adventure in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic wants to prove that he is a true hero. The time to try comes with the return of Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), who is looking for, together with his new partner, Knuckles, an emerald with the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic and Tails embark on a journey around the world in order to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Synopsis

Sonic, the blue hedgehog that is capable of running at supersonic speeds, returns to the big screen with this sequel. As in Sonic: The Movie, the predecessor film, Jeff Fowler will again be the director, while Pat Casey and Josh Miller will repeat as screenwriters. Once again, the popular character from the SEGA video game saga will return with a new adventure produced by Paramount Pictures.

The success of Sonic the Movie is incontestable. Its premiere last February 2020 —shortly before the pandemic— served to show that the SEGA character could fit into the cinematographic universe just as well as in that of video games. With Jeff Fowler at the controls, this adaptation distributed by Paramount Pictures managed to reap a collection of 319 million dollars, which may be much more with the new 2022 film.

Filming began in Vancouver in March 2021 and concluded in Miami on June 25, 2021.
