Shantaram Season 1: On Friday, October 14, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. ET, Apple TV+ will debut the new drama series Shantaram.

Author Gregory David Roberts’s work served as inspiration for the TV show. The story centers on a 1980s-era bank robber who escapes from Australia and winds up in Bombay.

Charlie Hunnam stars as the main character, and several other actors play pivotal roles in the drama.

Shantaram Season 1 Release Date

On October 14 at 12 am PT, the Shantaram season 1 series will debut on Apple TV Plus worldwide. On the first day of the streaming service’s launch, three episodes will be available, and further episodes will be released weekly.

Throughout the episode, Lin is haunted by memories of being tortured in prison for his past mistakes, and he feels hopeless about his life. When Prabhu prevents Lin from helping a stranger who is overdosing, he feels even more helpless.

In light of this situation, Lin has no choice but to take charge and help Karla. He accepts her request for assistance, and the two prepare to carry out the risky plan. To play the part, Lin adopts an American accent and wardrobe.

Karla and Lin are welcomed into the Palace by the proprietor Madame Zhou. The question is whether Lin’s efforts to rescue Lisa from this hellish place were worth it.

As soon as he leaves the premises, he learns that Karla’s motivation for rescuing Lisa is not altruistic but rather informational. Equally resentful, Lin storms off.

On the streets, Lin is attacked by bandits who rob and assault him, taking his passport, shoes, and money.

Lin narrates the final moments of the episode, suggesting that the rescue attempt was the impetus for a great deal of additional tragedy.

Shantaram Season 1 Episode 2 Recap

Didier declines Lin’s request for assistance in obtaining a fake passport. Then, Lin looks for Maurizio and Modena, the pimps he holds responsible for his current plight.

Lin almost starts a fight and causes commotion in the no-man’s-land because these crooks aren’t exactly helpful. Even when Lin calls Charlie and asks him to wire money, Charlie believes he is completely paid up and in no further debt to Lin.

Lin has no choice but to work for Prabhu to get more cash, but Karla comes to the rescue by giving him a thousand dollars and helping him get a new passport.

Prabhu and Lin make their final goodbyes and go their own ways. After leaving the shantytown, Lin continues on his wayward trip.

However, on his way out, a man with a knife approaches him, forcing Lin to defend himself again. Lin accidentally ignites a fire during the struggle, quickly spreading to nearby shacks.

To avoid controversy and keep to himself, he leaves fast. Something within him, however, makes him reconsider. He feels compelled to play the role of savior and put the world right.

Shantaram Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

Khader is clearly a man with many responsibilities; after picking up Lin in the slums, he immediately proceeds to show him the city. Later, Khader shows off his wealth and power by taking Lin to a club.

Khader is delighted with Lin and expresses his admiration for Lin to his trusted aide Abdullah.

Lin and Karla run into one other in the club, and Khader acts like he doesn’t recognize her.

After that, Khader takes Lin back to the shantytown in his car. Khader praises Lin for the good she is doing, and Lin muses aloud about the possibility that this is all a test.

‘I’m not a good man,’ Lin retorts. In my opinion, he has no clue that he is being exploited. Khader’s true intentions aren’t entirely transparent.

Lin returns to the shantytown after missing Lakshmi’s burial. As a result, Ravi, her son, attacks Lin. The fugitive has compassion for the young man’s anger and suffering.

He complains to Ravi that he is always sick of being incorrect. Qasim, the slums’ leader, steps in and kicks Ravi out.

He instructs Lin to make himself at home in Lakshmi’s shack. He then questions whether or not this is meant as a punishment rather than a gift.
