Servant Season 4 Episode 1 Recap, Ending Explain, Cast (Pigeon)

Servant Season 4 Episode 1 Recap: M. Night Shyamalan, the executive producer of Servant and a frequent director, wrote on Twitter in December 2022 that his team was “working around the clock to bring you the coolest and biggest last season” of the show. It’s still not clear if the creators of this unique Apple Original series will be able to give fans a satisfying ending and answer all the questions they’ve been asking for four years, but “Pigeon,” the first episode of the fourth season, is a good sign.

Servant Season 4 Episode 1 Recap

The new season starts with a fantastic new title sequence that shows Leanne, the Turners’ nanny, played by Nell Tiger Free. She may or may not have supernatural powers. As the camera moves up over the Turner house, Leanne and the baby stand on the roof in a biblical downpour. In the first scene, Leanne cleans the Turner house quickly while looking at Sean’s Gourmet Gauntlet stuff. Dorothy is coming home today, and Leanne is getting ready for the party with party supplies and a lot of cleaning.

In the most crucial scene of the last season, Dorothy fell backwards down a set of stairs. Leanne didn’t directly cause this terrible thing to happen, but it’s clear that her family and friends blame her and her supernatural powers. Now, she wants to make a good impression on Dorothy, so she bakes her favourite cake. Julian calls her to let her know when they are expected to arrive. He seems to be drinking again and says they are late because they must sign so much paperwork. Julian tells Leanne to get flowers from the car. On her way back from the car, she noticed that the front door was open, which meant someone was inside.

As Leanne goes through the house, director Dylan Holmes Williams makes it seem like something terrible is going to happen. She turns off the TV showing an episode of Gourmet Gauntlet and sees the intruder in the reflection of the TV. She hurts the stranger and runs to the street, where she thinks she will be safe, but more enemies are waiting for her there. Leanne goes into the car to hide and calls Roscoe. Her loyal followers have been kicked out of the park, so they can’t protect her or come to her aid anymore. In her panic, Leanne sees Uncle George in a trench coat and then sees her now-dead Aunt Josephine with her in the car.

Leanne doesn’t know who to trust as she looks down the empty street. The Church of Lesser Saints has been after Leanne for a while, and the members of the cult are starting to act boldly in their attempts to get close to her. A man with a hot dog stand stops in front of the Turner house, and a jogger goes by without noticing anything wrong. Leanne takes this chance to leave, but it’s clear that both of these strangers are part of the cult, so they attack her right away. Leanne uses a pen to stab the man in the neck, and the jogger’s fingers get stuck in the car door. Again locked inside the car, the cult members crowd around her and bang on the windows, making it feel like a nightmare. Leanne honks the car horn all over the place until everyone leaves.

It won’t be long before more people from the cult show up. A very tall man and some creepy-looking twins look exactly alike. The tall man tells Leanne to go back to the church, and then more strangers gather around the car. Leanne has a sudden realisation that they can’t hurt her. At that moment, she feels like she can’t be broken, so she decides to fight back. She is able to start the engine, but she doesn’t know what to do next. They put leaves in the car’s exhaust, and the fumes make her start to choke. Leanne backs up into a man with her car, and hundreds of pigeons appear as if she called them there herself. A few pigeons land on the street and pick at the hot dog buns that have fallen on the ground. They try to hurt her rivals.

The people who break in are quickly scared away by this swarm of pigeons. In the chaos, someone even pulls out a man’s eye. The members of the cult either run away or drive away because they are scared of the violence. As they run away, Leanne screams. Soon, the creepy fog gives way to a downpour, and Leanne goes back to the Turners’ building. Some of her followers arrive in a taxi, but they are much too late to help their leader.

Servant Season 4 Episode 1 Ending Explain

Leanne cleans up the mess when she gets home and tries her best to hide the fact that someone broke in. She throws away the burned cake and gets Dorothy’s room ready. Dorothy is wheeled into the ambulance when it comes. She wears too-big glasses and a severe face and doesn’t care about Leanne’s good wishes. Sean gives Leanne a mean look, and then Julian brings in the baby and, ironically, talks about how hard the day has been.

Leanne goes to her room and sees one of her followers standing on a street corner and keeping an eye on her. She asks Julian what’s wrong with Dorothy. Her spinal injuries can be treated, and she might be able to move around again, but it’s hard to say for sure. Leanne tries to cheer him up because he seems down. Now that Dorothy is home, she thinks she will get better. Sean is just as sad, which means that Leanne can’t take care of Dorothy for now. Sean says that Dorothy needs to be left alone. She is sure that Leanne hurt her and put her in the situation she is in now.

Leanne lets out some of her anger over the Turners’ cold response and the chaos of the day. This makes the light bulbs pop, and the floor in the cellar crack again. These cracks go from the basement to the sidewalk and stop at the street. Who knows what will happen now that her powers are getting out into the real world?
