Riverdale Season 6 Episode 17 Recap
First, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Chapter 121: American Psychos was technically a musical episode of The Simpsons.
Think of Riverdale Season 2 Episode 18’s Carrie or Season 5 Episode 18’s Next to Normal for inspiration. In Riverdale’s history, there have been five musical-themed episodes, but this episode is the worst.
The group played three songs from the Broadway show, but they weren’t integral to the plot. No one would have noticed a difference if we had removed them.
As a fan of the convention’s serial killer theme, I found it interesting that the tracks had some connection. If we compare this year’s “musical” to previous productions on Riverdale, it pales in comparison. Either go all out or don’t bother at all.
The plan sounded good on paper to get back to the SlasherCon ruse. An egomaniac like TBK might be persuaded to attend a massive True Crime-style convention full of attendees and activities.
And he couldn’t pass up Betty’s opportunity to participate in the panel discussion about being his victim. He’s too preoccupied with Betty to see the bigger picture.
That being said, I believed that Drake was secretly in love with the serial killer and an accomplice of TBK. There are several reasons why Betty has a special place in her heart.
Drake went a little too far when she expressed her feelings for Betty. During her panel discussion on fanatical love, she hinted at a surprise. However, something about her panel made us think we should pay attention.
Betty was on edge after reading “Chapter One Hundred And Twelve: American Psychos,” Betty was on edge. Things were pushing her to be the next giant killer or tormenting her with the thought that she was a killer at the time of the events.
This chapter did an excellent job tying Betty’s development together throughout the series. Everything she’d been dreading about Dark Betty, her father’s influence, and the serial killer gene culminated when she finally opened up and confronted her deepest fears.
Archie’s presence helped her open up about her anxieties and begin breaking down the walls she had built around herself. Betty will benefit significantly from this because it will help her overcome the trauma she has endured throughout her life.
This is partly due to her face-to-face confrontation with TBK.
Was anyone concerned that she would join TBK in the killer’s mask? It would have been a simple decision because she had previously believed nothing could help her.
When Betty decided to remain a hero by killing TBK, she made a wise decision. Because she had worked so hard to become the person she wanted to be, I had no doubt she would succeed.
Archie was absolutely correct in all his predictions; “Dark Betty” and the forces of evil had consistently lost to the details of light over the years. As a natural, Betty is a kind and generous person.
Only after Agent Drake revealed her feelings for Betty did I have any reservations about this chapter. For a brief moment, it appeared that Betty would prefer to be with her than to continue to care for “Barchie.”
Having a new character break up Archie and Betty’s relationship would have been frustrating after all they had been through.
After all, they had discussed their future together months ago. Compared to their other relationships, they seemed to be on the same page regarding wanting to stay in Riverdale.
We don’t know yet whether they’ll be considered endgame characters. In any case, their conversation was a good sign.
Archie’s reference to the injured bird and Betty’s light was a lovely nod to their pre-Riverdale history of closeness.
Does anyone else find it heartening that Cheryl finally addressed her long-held thoughts about Toni?
Considering that “Choni” was a big part of Riverdale’s early years, they’d only naturally consider reuniting. Cheryl’s admission that she wondered if they’d be in the endgame felt like it answered many questions for the fans, who had been wondering for a while.
When we hear that an ex is getting married, we tend to feel tizzy. Even if a magical curse wasn’t involved, there would still be some resentment in the world.
Heather was an excellent friend to Cheryl and helped them sort out their feelings and get back on track.
Unlike Cheryl, Heather appears to have a level head and can see right through Cheryl’s antics. In the long run, she could be ideal for her. It would be nice if their relationship could last.
Chapter felt like it was preparing for the future during the strike.
It was Riverdale’s goal to expose one of Percival’s most significant weaknesses, so there had to be a reason for this twist to be added. In addition, Percival needed an excuse to retaliate after the plagues appeared in Riverdale Season 6, Episode 18.
Knowing that Percival’s powers weaken when applied to a large group will be helpful.
With the help of music and family members, Toni, Tabitha, and Archie were able to break the construction crew’s mind control. They could do so much more if they had their special powers. They may need to break his control to gain the upper hand against him.
And Bailey’s Comet’s plan will be thwarted if the railroad isn’t built in time. The clock is ticking, so the group must act quickly!
