Riverdale Recap Season 6 Episode 19 Recap

This week’s episode of Riverdale begins with the death of several of our favorite characters. Fortunately, in Riverdale, people don’t stay dead for long.

We pick up with Cheryl visiting Nana Rose’s grave, where she and her first-born children Archie, Jughead, Toni, Fangs, and Dagwood had all been killed by Percival’s plague.

“We weren’t nearly worm food,” Jughead tells us from beyond the dead. Dr. Curdle is keeping their bodies frozen until Cheryl and the other survivors can discover a way to revive them.

Who are we aware of who can evade death? Sabrina Spellman is the obvious choice. To save the lives of the victims, she’ll have to act quickly.

For now, the dead can be found having a good time in “the Sweet Hereafter,” where Archie is happily married to Betty and has a son and a daughter named Fred and Polly, respectively (aww! ); Jughead is happily writing comic books in an old-fashioned Pop’s, and Toni is signing a peace treaty with the Ghoulies.

As a bonus, Anthony the baby has matured into an imposing figure! It’s revealed that Sabrina is an expert in death magic, considering she’s already been dead.

Nick Scratch, her boyfriend, gave his life to save her, and now he’s in the afterlife. Putting a pin in that tidbit might be a good idea.

To raise everyone from the dead, they’ll need a coven of six witches, and fortunately, Betty, Veronica, and Tabitha’s fast lithification provide them a perfect six-pack.

As a first step, Sabrina chooses Jughead, passing through a portal to join him in his booth.

However, Jughead has no intention of leaving a world of limitless burgers and comics to face Percival in the final battle.

In any case, they’re going to lose against Percival, so why bother? When Sabrina tells him that the objective is hope, he doesn’t believe her.

So she relents and allows him to remain… she asks him for a favor, nevertheless. However, Jughead isn’t in her arm when she returns to the real world.

Jughead’s body is actually being inhabited by her boyfriend, Nick! (Well, it wasn’t like he would use it.)

The resurrections aren’t dead to Sabrina, but she thinks it’ll work better if their loved ones pass through the portal instead.

Cheryl, Tabitha, and Betty are all volunteers for Toni, Jughead, and Archie. Veronica has no one to turn to, leaving her in a void.

While Betty is out, Sabrina notices and explains why Ronnie should be called in so she may have Archie.

“Sure,” is the proper reaction from her. Kill me so I can visit my deceased ex-boyfriend in heaven for a little while.

Isn’t it time to try?” When Sabrina and “Nick” (in Jughead’s body) sneak away for a little reunion, the other two females pass through the portal together, leaving just the three of them.

Tabitha discovers Jughead in Pop’s, where a crowd has gathered to get their hands on his autographed comics.

However, she’s joined by the angel Raphael, and he has some vital information to share with her.

Veronica is trying to lure Archie back to the family, but he’s content with Betty and the kids, and Cheryl returns to collect Toni and Fangs and discovers that her beloved Jason and Polly are still living here!

Jason and Polly are playing with the twins at Thorn Hill when she returns… and Polly is pregnant with triplets! Cheryl is moved to tears by the beauty of the vision.

Also, Sabrina tells Nick that she wants to go away with him, but he cautions her that death will find them.

They both know how much she appreciates that he gave his life to save them both, and now she must say her final goodbyes as he returns to the Sweet Hereafter.

By burning their bodies, Sabrina claims, Cheryl can use “the power of the phoenix” to resurrect from the ashes. As a result, no one wishes to return. What’s next?

When Cheryl chants magic while the bodies are burning, all of the dead pals elect to return to the Sweet Hereafter.

Just like that, they’re all back in the air, and the phoenix has taken flight!

Cheryl even revived Jason and Polly while at it, restoring hearing to them both!

In addition, Tabitha warns Veronica that “you and Archie are endgame….” You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

Aside from that, did you notice how Baby Anthony managed to escape the first-born plague? Tabitha explains that he’s “immortal” because of that.

Raphael told her, so she knows. Moreover, Riverdale’s guardian angel is a Riverdale resident. (Whoa.)

Another time, Kevin tried to flee Percival’s hands so he could meet up with Moose, but Percival grabbed him and tried to collect information from him.

Percival enlisted Reggie, the casino’s CEO, to kill Kevin, promising him Kevin’s heart as a replacement for Reggie’s dying father.

In the end, Reggie decides to leave town with his father and Kevin after a visit from a doll of himself representing his conscience (?!)

However, Percival’s thugs seize them and plan to execute them all.

“Insurance policy”: Reggie carries one of Percival’s magical daggers as a backup.
