New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 17: Max and Helen have an important talk. Iggy’s secret gets exposed. Laura helps someone. Floyd and Dr. Malvo did something very significant.

The gang goes to a karaoke bar for some fun but deals with it the next day. Iggy helps a mysterious patient to confront past trauma. Leyla provides Bloom with some bad news. Max has to surrender to his feelings for Dr. Sharpe. Max is on a mission to enhance their nation’s healthcare.

New Amsterdam Season 4 Episode 17 Review

Max finds Helen on the floor. She is suffering from blood clots all through her body. She needs a hysterectomy which Helen argues about. She won’t be able to have any more babies and is not sure what that will do to her body. Against Max’s wishes, Helen opts for the risker procedure, which goes well.

Then things got really bad when Helen has a stroke and is unable to speak to Max. The doctors tell Max they don’t know if she will ever be able to speak right again. Max has to question loving someone so much then they are incapacitated and what that does to your future and your mind. So he is thinking their engagement may be held off, but then Max asks Helen to Marry him in the ICU. Helen says yes. Then Helen is able to speak.
