Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa) is back from prison, and Robert’s (Hamish Allan-Headley) case has been dropped out of the blue. While Mike tries to catch up, Milo (Aidan Gillen) comes back to the crime story, and Bunny starts a war without thinking it through.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 9 Recap

What does Milo want Mike to do for him?

Mike and Milo finally get back together after “Santa Jesus” ended. Milo wants to make a simple deal with Mike to trade Iris for his money-making bonds. The enemies talk about this conversation, and Mike tells Milo that he needs to leave town for good. The Russian gangster does want to leave Kingstown for good, with or without Iris, and he suggests that Mike does the same. Before the meeting is over, Milo tells Mike that if he betrays him and breaks the deal, Milo will not only kill Mike, but also destroy everything he cares about.

Kyle is happy to see Mike when he gets back to the office after a day off. His brother tells him what’s going on. He says that everyone has been looking everywhere for the Mayor, and they’re all very worried. Mike says that he saw Milo and tells Kyle about the deal he and Milo just made. In exchange for Iris’ freedom, she gave up the bonds. Kyle tells Mike that he was at the club and saw Iris. Mike is mad that Kyle went to Milo’s club by himself and told him to stop being the hero. Mike doesn’t want Milo in his life, and he wants Iris to be saved. This idea solves both problems. Kyle agrees to do this dangerous job with his brother. Next, Kyle tells Mike that Bunny is out of jail, which Mike didn’t know. Obviously, Mike didn’t do it after all.

Bunny is enjoying being free, so he goes gun shopping in the morning. He sees a gun he likes and pretends to call his “wife” to talk about how to pay for it. This phone call is a trick because Bunny’s men come crashing through the shop window as their van crashes into the building. Bunny and his men take as many guns and bullets as they can carry. Before they leave, they destroy the security cameras and computers.

Mike won’t have to wait long to hear about this armed robbery. Mike talks on the phone with his mother on the way to the crime scene. Mariam is glad Mike is okay, but she cares more about Jacob, a young criminal to whom she has grown close. She wants Mike to step in and help Jacob. Mike then talks to Kareem and asks him to find out how the teenager is doing. Kareem is also asked about Bunny’s release by Mike. It was sent from the office of the District Attorney.

At the gun shop, Ian fills Mike in on what’s going on. The robbery was planned by a man who fit Bunny’s description. The whole store was robbed in just a few minutes. Ian thinks this is the start of a full-scale war. Ian tells Mike to calm things down right away and talk to Bunny in person. During this chat, Mike also finds out that the District Attorney has miraculously dropped Robert’s case.

Mike thanks Evelyn for figuring out how to help Bunny and Robert in less than 24 hours. Even though Evelyn says she had nothing to do with it. After the last District Attorney died, she is very against Mike and everything he stands for. Evelyn tells Mike that she will do anything to bring him and his colleagues down if she replaces the old District Attorney. Evelyn then talks about Ben, who was killed before he could testify. She thinks that everything is out of hand.

Who is it that Bunny wants to kill?

After Evelyn made clear threats, Mike went to see Bunny to be mean to her again. Mike talks about how busy Bunny has been since he got back. In one day, he bought a drone and ransacked a gun shop, getting enough weapons for an army. Mike is worried that it looks like they are starting a war, even though Bunny says the guns are for protection. Bunny tells Mike that they are now even, even though things got a little out of hand. Now, though, the leader of the Crips wants to get even. He wants to kill Robert Sawyer. Mike tries to play down the riots, but Bunny doesn’t care. There’s no point in trying to talk to him. He wants someone to pay for all the deaths.

Kyle tells his wife that he is too busy at work to go to a restaurant with her. Tracy tells Kyle at work that things are getting crazy in Kingstown, so she is temporarily moving back in with her dad. Kyle can go with her if he wants to, but he won’t leave Mike to go be with his wife. Mike’s brother then tells him more bad news. Jacob killed himself after he was moved to a different prison. Then, Mike tells Mariam that the teen has died. She tries not to show her feelings when she tells Mike that Jacob was a father.

How Does Season 2 Episode 9 of Mayor of Kingstown End?

In the middle of the episode, Iris seems to call Mike out of the blue. She wants to see him the day after tomorrow. Milo is, of course, behind this meeting and watching how everything goes. Mike says he’ll meet at midnight, and the phone call ends quickly. Does he think Milo is involved? Is this an ambush that was planned? No matter what happens, I’m sure Mike has a grand plan. Iris is back in the middle of all this chaos, but she hasn’t given up yet. In a hotel room, Joseph beats her up, and she kills Milo’s right-hand man in retaliation. The next day, Ian and Stevie keep putting more pressure on Mike to finish his rounds. Mike says that Robert killed Ben, so his old friend starts to avoid calling him because he feels insulted by Mike’s claims.

Mike tries to talk sense to Bunny again, but it doesn’t work. Bunny wants Robert to pay for what he did. Mike calls Robert over and over to tell him about this coming attack, but Robert doesn’t answer. In the end, Robert does answer, but it’s already too late. Bunny’s foot soldiers attack Robert and beat him up badly. Mike shows up just as Bunny’s men are leaving the scene. He wraps his arms around Robert. Robert may not be able to recover from this attack.
