Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 1: Taylor Sheridan is an amazing person. Since his breakthrough script, Sicario made waves in 2015, the actor, writer, and director have ruled both TV and movies. In a short time, the director has written and directed many movie scripts and simultaneously started many very successful TV shows. One of these shows, Mayor of Kingstown, is back for a second season, and A-list actor and Avenger Jeremy Renner is back in the lead role. “Never Missed a Pigeon,” the first episode of Season 2, looks at what happened after the crazy prison riot in Season 1.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

The prison riot in question led to many deaths and a lot of criminal investigations, but for now, we’re going to focus on one prison guard’s mental health. Captain Kareem Moore (Michael Beach), still traumatised by the events he saw and the attack he got during the riots, is found shaking and crying in his basement. Next, Kareem is given a job interview to get back to work. He says he wasn’t raped during the riots, so he is cleared to go back to work. Kareem wants revenge, and he is allowed to go back into the chaos to look for it.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 1 Recap (Never Missed a Pigeon)

There is complete chaos inside the prison. The prisoners are left to live outside in a makeshift camp. As the gangs try to take over again, more fights and stabbings occur. Many gang leaders have been killed during the riots, and the criminal world is changing. Outside, crime is also getting worse, which makes things even worse. Robert Sawyer (Hamish Allan-Headley) and his SWAT team raid a drug dealer’s cook house. This makes Crip boss Bunny angry (Tobi Bamtefa). Other places are seeing more and more drive-by shootings.

Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) and his many nice suits are soon brought up again. He is called to a crime scene and sees the aftermath of yet another shooting by a gang. Mike knows that the chaos will stop once a new leader is picked. The “Mayor” gives Iris (Emma Laird) her own boat for a week while he tries to deal with the violence that has broken out in his town.

Bunny, the leader of the Crips, is hiding on the roof of one of Mike’s businesses when he meets with Mike. He is afraid of being killed in a drive-by shooting, so he stays on his roof and jokes that it would take a helicopter to kill him. Bunny is mad that someone broke into one of his cook houses. Mike says that someone told the police, so they had to come. Bunny is also angry about the deaths of all the prisoners during the riot. Mike says that’s false because 33 guards were killed and many more were raped and beaten. Both sides lost people, which shows how brutal this war was. Mike tells Bunny to stop cooking or moving drugs for now, but it doesn’t look like Bunny will stop anytime soon.

Mike has a busy day. Next, he meets with the police. He hears that the prisoners are going through a tough detox in their little tent community. They don’t have phones, drugs, or a place to play outside. Bunny went into more detail earlier when he said that the guards were stopping any messages from coming into or going out of the prison. This was also true for drugs and money. Also, the prisoners can’t choose a new leader because the best ones are all dead. The guards are making it even worse because it’s a real nightmare. Mike asks the police to go easy on Bunny because they need the Crips to be in charge and on their side.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 1 Ending Explain

On top of everything else, Mike hears that Milo may have gotten away. There are 300 bodies to figure out who they belong to, and the Russian mobster has yet to be seen or heard from. Mike goes to see Evelyn Foley at the coroner’s office. If Milo gets away, he needs an alert to be sent out. There, too, things are a mess. Evelyn is in charge of looking into 197 deaths and 724 separate crimes. She doesn’t want to make things worse by talking about Milo’s escape, but Mike needs her to act quickly because a dangerous criminal may be free.

While Mike has a busy day, Kareem goes back to prison and kills the people who hurt him. Miriam, Mike’s mother, played by Dianne West, is robbed in broad daylight, but she doesn’t want to report it. And Mike’s brother Kyle, played by Taylor Handley, starts a new job out in the open waters up state.

Mike puts Iris in a safe house because he is afraid that Milo will get out of jail. He wants her to start a new life with a new name, but she is sad that she will have to leave Mike behind. Iris hears the others talking about Milo’s escape while she is under house arrest. She asks to go outside to get some fresh air, and when she does, she goes right to Mike’s office. At the end of the episode, the two get back together. Iris asks Mike if Milo has really gotten away. He isn’t sure, but he thinks it’s true in his heart. All of them are in grave danger right now.
