Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Release Date

Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Release Date: Christmas music should be played at maximum volume before any other holiday preparations are made, including hanging stockings, decorating the tree, baking every cookie recipe in the book, and making a list of presents you want Santa to bring. It can’t be done. While many timeless tunes must be heard every December, it’s hard to fathom the holiday season without Mariah Carey’s famous hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” If you go shopping this winter, I guar-an-TEE, you’ll hear that phrase at least once, and probably anywhere from five times to one hundred times.

Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Release Date

Mariah Carey released her debut Christmas album, Merry Christmas, in 1994, and the title track, All I Want for Christmas Is You, was the first single. Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff co-wrote and produced the song, which was first released on October 9, 1994.

A fast-paced love song asserts that the protagonist doesn’t care about Christmas decorations or gifts but instead wants to spend the holiday with her beloved.

The song consistently ranks first on the annual list of most-streamed holiday music and is now the all-time leader in holiday single downloads. Tech Times claims that Carey and her co-writer, Walter Afanasieff, made almost $50 million off of the song, making it the 11th best-selling single of all time and the highest-grossing song of all time.

Even more impressive is that the song is still a seasonal favorite four decades after its debut.

The song has earned Carey three Guinness World Records: the most weeks in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song, the most streams in 24 hours, and the highest charting holiday song on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 by a solo artist.

The song has sold over 16 million copies worldwide, making it the biggest international success for the mysterious chanteuse and the eleventh best-selling single of all time.

It was claimed in 2017 that the song had generated $60 million in royalties. Mariah’s twins may rest assured that they will be well-fed for the rest of their lives because to the success of that festive tune.

The most weeks spent in the Top 10 of the U.K. singles chart for a Christmas song, the most streamed song on Spotify in 24 hours, and the highest charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 by a solo artist are the others.
