Julia Renewed For Second Season (HBO Max): A few hours after the launch of the chapter that will close its first season, HBO Max announces today, Wednesday, the renewal of its successful comedy ‘Julia’.
Starring Sarah Lancashire, the drama is inspired by the extraordinary life of Julia Child and her long-running television show, “The French Chef,” which pioneered modern cooking shows. Through Julia’s life and her unique joie de vivre, the series explores a pivotal moment in American history: the rise of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrities, and the cultural revolution of the United States. At its core, the series is a portrait of a loving marriage with shifting power dynamics.

From the platform, Sarah Aubrey pointed out that: ‘Through a wonderful interpretation, Sarah Lancashire has welcomed us into the world of Julia Child, a pioneer who, among other things, redefined the possibilities of public television and, incidentally, introduced French cuisine to the United States. We are very grateful to both the team led by Chris Keyser and Daniel Goldfarb and the cast of the series for their work. Julia is the ideal series for these moments and we really want to serve the second season of it’.
