In the first quarter of the wild-card game against the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen rolled to the right and tried to scramble. But the ball came loose and went out of bounds.
The team of referee Brad Allen seemed sure that Josh Allen’s pass was not complete. But after a review, they said it was a turnover.
In NFL, a pass that hits the ground or goes out of bounds is called “incomplete,” and the ball is “dead.” When this happens, the ball goes back to where it was before.
The Buffalo Bills also want to be the first team to win the Super Bowl. By beating the Miami Dolphins in Week 15, the team made the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
The Bills won the AFC East for the third straight season by beating the Chicago Bears the following week.
After their safety, Damar Hamlin, passed out on the field during Week 17’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the game was called a no contest. Hamlin got up after tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins in the open field, but he fell on his back a few seconds later. After CPR was done on the field, he was rushed to the hospital.
Damar Hamlin was released from the hospital but won’t be at the team’s playoff game at Highmark Stadium against the Miami Dolphins. The 24-year-old said that he will cheer for Josh Allen and the other players “from home.”
