A serious plane crash causes a group of young people to live alone on an island without the supervision of an adult. Two of the characters, Ralph and Piggy, after the accident start looking for more people, Ralph finds a conch shell and Piggy recommends that he blow to make some kind of sound. After doing so, several children began to arrive. They meet on a large stone which they called the platform and continue to use the sound of the conch shells to call meetings.
The group of children is then forced to survive on a desert island and decide to vote to choose a leader. Ralph is chosen and decides to establish a series of rules that were based on civilized customs. In this way, children become hunters with the main objective of survival. At the beginning of the play, the main theme is the hope of being rescued and as time goes by, fear is generated in the youngest children. This is how the story of the beast arises which also casts doubt on the belief that they can be rescued.
The children who were in charge of hunting, decide to look for the best but cannot find anything. Later, disputes begin to appear between the characters causing the group to split into two. In Jack’s group, they decide to form a tribe and become more savage, even painting their faces and bodies. When the beast, which is seen as The Lord of the Flies, comes to eat the head of a wild boar they had hunted, he realizes that one of the young men, Simon, had seen him and explains that he was responsible for causing the evil among all of them and later Simon dies.
In this way, a series of problems develop in which Piggy is also involved, whose glasses are stolen, and who finally ends up dead trying to recover them. They were only united, Ralph with some twins, the other young people were on Jack’s side, however, Jack makes the twins join his group. Finally, Jack began a real manhunt against Ralph, as if he were an animal, and everything they found had to be eliminated with the spear.
Unable to find Ralph, Jack decides to set the entire island on fire so that he would have to get out of hiding. He spent a long time hiding in the trees and when he was finally about to be captured by Jack, a naval officer appears who had seen the island burn and in this way, they managed to return to their homes.
