Former Home and Away Star Bonnie Sveen Marries Long-Term Partner Nathan Gooley in a Picturesque Tasmanian Wedding

Bonnie Sveen, a beloved actress known for her role as Ricky Sharpe in Home and Away, has tied the knot with her long-term partner Nathan Gooley. The couple got married on March 11 in Tasmania, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Stewarts Bay Lodge in Port Arthur. Over 100 guests, including family and close friends, were in attendance to witness their big day.

A Family-Friendly Affair

The couple, who have twin girls Myrtle and Emerald, 4, made sure that their wedding was family-friendly, as they wanted to keep it simple and focused on their love and their family. Bonnie said, “We needed it to be really family-friendly because we had 21 kids there! We wanted things to be nice and simple … and keep it centred on the love between Nath and I and the family.”

First Dance to a Disney Song

During their first dance, the couple chose to play a song from Disney’s movie Encanto, which is a favourite of their daughters. Bonnie and Nathan were delighted to have their two little children watching on and celebrating with them.

From On-Set Romance to Real-Life Marriage

Bonnie met Nathan on the set of Home and Away, where he worked as an assistant director. She played the role of Ricky Sharpe on the show between 2013 and 2016, winning the Most Popular New Talent award at the Logies in 2014.

According to Bonnie, Nathan is a bit older than her, and the couple has been in a relationship for many years before tying the knot. “Nath is a bit older. He’s 34 in December, so it feels like 29 isn’t too bad, and we have some time,” she said in an interview with Who in 2017.

A Dream Come True

Bonnie, who left Home and Away to pursue other acting roles, said that her wedding was a dream come true. She also expressed her happiness for having her family, including her two little girls, with her on the special day. “We were coming at the wedding as a whole family circle, rather than as just a pair,” she said.
