Flash Season 9: Danielle Panabaker Is Playing A New Character: At the end of the first episode of season 9 of The Flash, there was a shocking scene that showed that Danielle Panabaker is playing a new character. This proved that Dr. Caitlin Snow, played by Danielle Panabaker, had changed after the events of the season 8 finale of The Flash. The details of how that change happened are still unknown, though, leaving a cliffhanger for The Flash season 9, episode 2.
Dr. Caitlin Snow, a bio-engineer at STAR Labs, is played by Panabaker. Her twin sister, the vigilante Frost, is played by Panabaker. Panabaker has been a part of The Flash since the very beginning. After Frost died bravely in season 8 of The Flash and Caitlin left Team Flash to secretly look for a way to bring her back to life, the show seemed to be setting up a recasting of both roles. This was needed because Panabaker was pregnant when season 8 of The Flash was being filmed, and she hadn’t signed on for season 9. Panabaker agreed to come back in the end, but not as Caitlin or Frost.
Flash Season 9: Danielle Panabaker Is Playing A New Character
The first time Danielle Panabaker showed up as her new character was in the last scene of The Flash season 9, episode 1, “Wednesday Ever After.” Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was seen in the scene running to STAR Labs to answer an emergency call from Caitlin’s phone. He was shocked to see a woman with blue streaks in her hair who looked just like both Caitlin and Frost. When Barry asked her if she was Dr. Caitlin Snow or Frost, she said, “Neither, I’m afraid.” At the end of the scene, the strange woman told Barry Allen that she would explain everything to him. Every Wednesday, The CW airs new episodes of The Flash.
Little is known for sure about the mysterious new character that Danielle Panabaker will play in season 9 of The Flash. It’s not clear if she will have Frost’s ability to control cold or Caitlin Snow’s medical training. As of The Flash season 9’s premiere, the character does not have a name. It has been confirmed, though, that she is the result of Caitlin and Chillblaine’s resurrection experiment in season 8 of The Flash. This seemed to set up a new actress for Frost and Caitlin if Panabaker didn’t come back for season 9.
In the season 8 finale of The Flash, when Chillblaine first saw Danielle Panabaker’s new character, he didn’t recognise her and asked who she was. She said, “I think it’s a friend,” but in Caitlin’s voice. In the first episode of The Flash’s ninth season, she apologised very much to Barry Allen for scaring him when she used Caitlin’s phone to use the panic app. She also said, “I’m sorry to meet you this way,” which confirmed the idea that Danielle Panabaker would be getting a new role. As The Flash season 9 goes on, we can probably find out more about Danielle Panabaker’s new character.
