The audience can infer why Barney does not want to spend dinner with his grandma based on the conversation he had with his mother, even though he does not directly state the reason. It would appear that Barney’s grandmother does not accept that he identifies as a transgender male.

Because of the way that Norma responds whenever the name Pauline Phoenix is brought up, and she is thoroughly knowledgeable about her, I believe it is safe to state that Norma is a massive fan of Pauline Phoenix. The theme park known as Phoenix Parks is run by Pauline Phoenix. In addition to it, she has a singing and acting career.

In reality, Barney and Norma were being used as a disguise for a dark purpose. In searching for a body to inhabit, the demon king Temeluchus settled on Barney.

With just a few seconds left, Pugsley steps between the laser and Barney to stop him from being taken over by Temeluchus. Pugsley is now under the control of the demon lord. The possessed Pugsley then seeks a throne. Barney and Norma set out to find him after he flees.

Courtney is a thousand-year-old demon who wishes to be freed from her curse and return to her homeworld. Bringing a human for the demon king to possess would grant her these benefits. Sadly for her, the demon king is unable to fulfill her desires.

Temeluchus is in the photograph that Norma took of Barney and Pugsley, but a significant portion of him is obscured. It is not entirely obvious, yet it appears to be so. Barney bids Pugsley goodbye towards the end of the episode, and Pugsley responds, which is something that Pugsley was unable to accomplish before he was possessed. The show comes to a close with Barney, who is visibly shaken, opening his eyes.

Pugsley follows the mascot into a room where there are more mascots. Pugsley initially believes that the mascots at the amusement park intend to devour him and the other guests there, but then one of the mascots shows him a photo of another guest.
The photograph shows a mascot and a guest both wearing happy expressions. Pugsley has concluded that the amusement park’s mascots simply wish to meet and welcome the visitors.

During this time, Barney and Norma, along with Courtney’s assistance, have been looking for Pugsley. Barney does find Pugsley, and when he does, he watches as Pugsley loads the mascots into the monorail.

They end up arguing, which culminates in Pugsley getting on the monorail with the other mascots. Guests are unwittingly frightened by the park’s mascots because they are allowed to roam free throughout the park. When this happens, Pugsley feels guilty for leaving the mascots to go to the park.

Back at the spooky mansion in Dead End, the mascots make their way inside as Barney concludes that he was in the wrong for trying to keep Pugsley hidden.

Norma is under the impression that the mascots are going to hurt her, but in reality, all they want to do is make friends with her. After that, Barney and Norma conclude that they need to formulate a plan.

In the background, Barney apologizes to Pugsley as Norma talks to the park intercom. A daily mascot parade is about to begin, she informs the guests.

Mascots line up and walk around the park as Norma plays a recording of a past Phoenix Parks Parade. Guests join the parade when they understand the mascots aren’t out to get them.

While they wash the mascots, Barney and Norma have a conversation. The following day, Norma confronts Barney about his overnight stay at the park.

Barney chose to spend the night at the theme park because it allowed him to be who he indeed was. He tells Norma he’s transgender and feels at home in Phoenix Parks because he can be himself. No one at home or school knows Barney is transgender, but Barney has the option of telling Phoenix Parks staff and students about his identity if he wishes.
