The number of people going to see Creed III is going up. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania has been knocked off the top spot in the domestic box office rankings by a sports drama film with Michael B. Jordan in the lead role. Several reports, though, say that the Marvel trilogy is still the most popular movie in the world.
Creed III: How much box office money did Michael B. Jordan’s movie make over the March 6 weekend?
On Friday, March 3, 2023, Michael B. Jordan’s Creed III came out on 4,007 screens in the United States. It made $58.6 million by Sunday, March 5, 2023. This is a great start, and it’s a lot more than the $38–$40 million that was expected for the first weekend.
The movie made a total of $100.5 million worldwide, which is more than any other sports movie ever made in its first weekend. Operation Fortune: Ruse of War, up against it at the box office, made $3.2 million from 2,150 theatres in the United States. This was in line with the $3–6 million that was expected for the opening weekend.
Also, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: To the Swordsmith Village came out on March 3, and 1,780 screens showed it. It made $10,1 million. On the domestic market, the product made by Aniplex and Crunchyroll of America is currently in fourth place.
The third film in the Creed series is the one that has done the best at the box office. Creed, which came out in 2015, made $30,1 million in its first weekend, and Creed II, which came out in 2018, made $35,3 million in its first weekend.
Even though Creed made $173,6 million on a budget of $35–40 million, the sequel, which cost $50 million to make, brought in $214,1 million. Creed III is expected to finish its run as the most profitable Rocky spin-off.
Jordan’s first movie as a director, Creed III, did very well at the box office, which was a big deal for him. But actor Jonathan Majors has a unique reason to have a party. Creed III and Quantumania, the top two movies in the box office, both star him.
In the second movie, he plays Kang the Conqueror, a time-traveling, multiverse-spanning enemy. In the sports drama, he plays Damian “Diamond Dame” Anderson, Jordan’s best friend who becomes his rival.
Michael B. Jordan is working on a number of projects, including the next part of I Am Legend with Oscar winner Will Smith. After Quantumania and Creed III come out in 2023, Majors may be in another movie. Magazine Dreams, the movie in question, was shown for the first time at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January, and it may come out later this year.
