Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 17: Hello, fellow Chicago Med fans! Tonight’s episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, as we saw our favorite characters unwind at the bowling alley, tackle a risky surgery, and face some tough decisions. Maggie decided to invite Dr. Grace Song to join their bowling team, thinking she would be a good fit for Will. Will respected Grace, but didn’t see their relationship going beyond friendship.
Will and Grace: A Potential Romance?
Hannah overheard Will and Grace making plans to go bowling again and encouraged Will to pursue a romantic relationship with Grace. Will, however, reminded her that the characters from the show “Will & Grace” remained friends throughout the series, and he was not interested in discussing his personal life at the hospital.
A Risky Surgery and a Documentary
The hospital was buzzing with excitement as they prepared for a documentary featuring a groundbreaking surgery. Dr. Jack Dayton believed that Chicago Med’s surgeons could successfully perform a high-risk procedure on Kuan-Yu, a patient who couldn’t stand up straight in 19 years. The documentary was also meant to promote the new OR 2.0 technology.
Crockett and Sam: A Surgical Duo
Crockett and Dr. Sam Abrams worked together on Kuan’s surgery, but their approaches differed. While Crockett embraced the cameras and explained the procedure, Sam was less enthusiastic about the attention. As the surgery faced complications, the camera crew attempted to exploit the situation by capturing Kuan’s mother’s emotional reaction, but Sharon stepped in to protect their privacy.
Surgery Success and Privacy Concerns
Despite the setbacks, the surgery was ultimately successful, allowing Kuan to lay on his back and see his mother for the first time in years. Sharon continued to defend the patients’ right to privacy, even as some at the hospital disagreed with her decision.
Will’s Realization and a New Beginning
Will eventually opened up to Hannah about his past relationship failures and how they made him hesitant to pursue something with Grace. Hannah encouraged him not to let his past dictate his future, and Will later asked Grace out for drinks.
Dean’s Health and Hospital Policy Changes
Dean acknowledged that his kidney damage required him to step back from certain responsibilities and ask for help. Meanwhile, the hospital made the difficult decision to only accept patients with great healthcare coverage, discontinuing subsidized surgeries.
In conclusion, this episode of Chicago Med brought us a mix of heartwarming and heartbreaking moments, showcasing our beloved characters’ challenges and triumphs inside and outside the hospital. We can’t wait to see what happens next in their personal and professional lives!
