The Queen is back, so grab your wigs and get ready. “BREAK MY SOUL,” the first track from Beyoncé’s I RENAISSANCE album, was released just four days after she announced the July 29 release date for the much-awaited record.

To respect a long history of liberatory queer anthems like Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out,” or Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love,” “BREAK MY SOUL” was produced by Beyoncé, Tricky Stewart, and The Dream.

Beyoncé urges you to let go of the stress you’re feeling because of a bad relationship or a dead-end job.

This upbeat track begins with her singing “Got motivation,” then moves into the chorus with a joyful chant of “You won’t break my soul.” The song concludes with the chorus refrain of “You won’t break my soul,” all set to a throbbing dance melody.

Inspired by Robin S.’s “Show Me Love” and Big Freedia’s 2014 bounce single “Explode,” the retrofuturistic track is a blend of disco, house, and gospel music with delicate, meticulously-arranged vocals perfect for the ballroom.
