Babylon Limited And Wide: The release of a new film by Damien Chazelle is cause for jubilation.
The 37-year-old American director’s first feature film, 2009’s Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench, failed to impress critics or viewers, whereas his following picture, 2014’s Whiplash, was a smash hit.
The following year, he released the critically acclaimed musical La La Land, and in 2018, he returned with the Neil Armstrong biographical First Man.
With the recent release of the film’s first trailer, anticipation for his upcoming epic Babylon is through the roof.
Babylon Limited And Wide Release Date
Babylon will have a limited release on Sunday, December 25th, but a wide release on Friday, January 6th, 2023, according to Empire.
Ticket sales have not yet begun, but showtimes will be posted on Fandango when the release dates draw near.
Because of this, moviegoers pressed for time can still catch it in limited theatres before the end of the year; we feel it will end up on many “best of 2022” lists.
However, attendance will be lower than during the film’s general release.
Since no date for a home video or streaming release has been announced, seeing it on the big screen is your only option.
Babylon clocks in at just over three hours and is set in the 1920s, right as Hollywood began to embrace the advent of talkies.
Classic movies like “Singin’ in the Rain” deal with similar themes. Thus audience expectations will be high.
