Avatar 2 Release Date Australia: For the first time in 13 years, we’ll return to Pandora in 2022. That’s correct; the Way of Water, the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron’s Avatar, will be released in theaters this year.
If you haven’t seen the original Avatar movie in over a decade, you might want to brush up on your knowledge before seeing the Avatar: The Way of Water sequel. Let’s go for it.
At some point in the future, Earth’s natural resources have been depleted, resulting in an energy crisis, and mankind has begun searching for a new home elsewhere.
Humans have been harvesting an extremely precious mineral known as unobtanium on the lush rainforest planet of Pandora.
While doing that, they got into a fight with the Na’vi, a tall, blue-skinned humanoid race.
Because humans are poisoned by the air on Pandora, humanity has created Na’vi avatars into which their minds can be transplanted.
Is that all? Jake Sully, a paraplegic ex-Marine hired to replace his murdered brother on a research expedition to Pandora, is now our straight white male protagonist.
Once he arrives, he is given a Na’vi avatar and the ability to move.
During his time on Pandora, Jake finds himself divided between his increasing attachment to the Na’vi and his responsibilities to the business, using him as a spy to gain information about the continent.
In the end, Jake is given an ultimatum by the Na’vi: either he or the Na’vi must leave their homes, or they will be evicted.
Choosing the Na’vi as his allies, he leads them in the battle against the humans, ultimately driving the latter from Pandora.
Ultimately, Jake decides to stay and permanently installs himself into a Na’vi avatar.

Filmmaker James Cameron premiered the first Avatar 2 teaser at CinemaCon, before releasing it online with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Before it made its way online, it was only available in theaters.
Footage from both underwater and on land shows beautiful landscapes, as well as CGI magic that brings the Na’avi and Pandora to life.
The RDA (that’s Resources Development Administration) appears in the footage, and they’re certain to make trouble for everyone. Although Sully and his family have arrived, little is known about the story at this point.

Despite numerous delays, Avatar 2 now has an official release date that appears to be holding.
Australians may expect Avatar: Way of the Water to take the Christmas box office by storm on December 15, 2022.
For those who missed it the first time, the original film will be shown in theaters on September 22. If you don’t have Disney+, you can still watch it.

What is The Way of Water About? (Avatar 2 Plot)
The RDA mining operation returns to Pandora, bringing the doom for which the prophecy spoke. There they find “a safe sanctuary,” the undersea reef, for Jake, Neytiri, and their children.
“And there’s a clan we call the Metkayina,” Landau continued. “The Sullys have left the jungle, the only home they’ve ever known. They’re like the proverbial fish out of water. Fish out of water: both culturally and environmentally.”
It’s abundantly evident from the set photographs and visually breathtaking teaser that the sequel’s underwater locales will be a significant focus.
What isn’t apparent is what happens to some of the most important characters. Since her character died in the first film, we have no idea how or why Signourney Weaver will return. She may be portraying someone else entirely, but that’s all we know for the time being.
Also, she’s not the only one who could make a comeback. Stephen Lang returns as Colonel Miles Quaritch, and Matt Gerald’s character Corporal Lyle Wainfleet returns.
Considering that both Sully and his family are members of the RDA, their reappearance is still another enigma.

Where Is Avatar 2 Filmed?
On August 15, 2017, Avatar: The Way of Water began pre-production in Manhattan Beach, California, with the film’s primary shooting site. Avatar 3’s principal photography began on the same day as Avatar 3’s on September 25, 2017. In November, Sigourney Weaver stated that production had to be rescheduled so that she could appear in the series eight finales of Doc Martin as a cameo.
